The welding process known as “brazing” must be performed by highly
skilled craftsmen. Brazing is the only method used by Stratos because it
produces the highest quality joint with maximum flexibility.
This time-intensive, low temperature process (1200ºF) allows the union
of 4130 chrome-moly to remain structurally sound, compared with the
faster, high temperature MIG welding (3100ºF) which compromises the
integrity of the metal.
Brazing is an essential component of Stratos’ chassis design, turning
out lighter karts that are longer-lasting, and better maneuvering.
