Long-Life Craftsmenship

Stratos Long-Life Chassis are Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), frequently referred to as TIG welding, by certified craftsmen.  TIG welding is a welding processes that Stratos has chosen based on its’ precision to produce a high quality connection, especially for a strong union for the use of 4130 chrome-moly tubing.

In TIG welding an arc is formed between a nonconsumable tungsten electrode and the metal being welded. Gas is fed through the torch to shield the electrode and molten weld pool.  As the filler wire is used, it is added to the weld pool separately.

The benefits of TIG Welding include: sc uperior quality weld, precise control of welding variables (heat), low distortion.
